Bernd Spillner (1941–2023) was a professor of Romance Philology and General Linguistics at the University of Duisburg-Essen. His research focused on stylistics and rhetoric, semantics, text linguistics and terminology research, cross-language comparison, contrastive linguistics, and foreign language didactics.
