Accessibility Statement
This accessibility statement applies to the website published under www.frank-timme.de and to the electronic products of Frank & Timme GmbH. This statement was prepared on 20 May 2025, its last review dates to 3 June 2025.
As a publishing house for the Humanities and Social Sciences with a focus on Accessible Communication and Inclusion, accessibility is a particular concern for us. We strive to make our electronic publications and this website as accessible as possible. Our aim is to ensure that as many people as possible can access their content. We focus on sensible and practicable solutions and their continuous improvement.
Current Status
The accessibility requirements are set out in Section 3 (1) to (4) and Section 4 of BITV 2.0 (German Barrier-free Information Technology Regulation), which in turn was issued on the basis of Section 12d of BGG (German Act on Equal Opportunities for Disabled Persons). This website is partially compatible with the aforementioned requirements—the following exceptions apply:
These aspects are not yet barrier-free:
- Due to the complexity of the publishing products’ content, not all explanatory texts are written in plain language. Furthermore, none of the explanations on the website are in plain language yet.
- High colour contrasts are not used throughout.
- Not all illustrations and graphic control elements have clear alternative texts.
- Not all foreign-language text sections are labelled with the corresponding language attribute.
- Not all PDF documents are fully accessible.
Accessibility standards for our electronic publications
From 28 June 2025, all new electronic publications will comply with the requirements of the EAA (European Accessibility Act) and with the established international standards such as PDF/UA, WCAG and the ePub Accessibility Specification. This includes a clear document structure, correctly formatted tags and headings, as well as structured tables and clear alternative texts for illustrations.
Contact and feedback options
We understand accessibility as a process. Therefore, your feedback, comments and questions are welcome suggestions for a further development of our services' accessibility.
Please note that this accessibility statement applies to all publications from 28 June 2025. We are currently unable to make our extensive backlist fully accessible.
