Claudia-Maria Maruschke grew up in the border town of Görlitz with stories of flight and encounters with the "foreign". She moved more than twenty times, which showed her the facets of internal migration. During her time as an educator, qualified social pedagogue, qualified theologian, head of social pedagogical family support and of kindergartens, she encountered the search for home and identity in everyday life. As a cultural anthropologist, she now has the opportunity to capture this in words and pass it on.
