Dorothea Spaniel-Weise taught German as a foreign and second language in Dresden, Leipzig and Jena, among other places, and as a DAAD lecturer in Salamanca. Her work focuses on didactics/methodology of German as a foreign and second language, language policy, European multilingualism, media didactics and literacy. She is also active as an Erasmus coordinator, in teacher training, and as a volunteer language facilitator.
