Fabian Fahlbusch, Dr. phil., studied German Philology, Business Administration and Romance Philology at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz and Université de Bourgogne in Dijon. As a research assistant at Deutscher Familiennamenatlas (DFA; German Surname Atlas), he has been involved in editing the volumes on the morphology of surnames, on names of origin and places of residence, and on occupational names and nicknames (volumes 3 to 5), among others. Today he works as a marketing manager for a global mechanical engineering company.
