Frank Hildebrandt studied Classical Archaeology, Ancient History, and Prehistory and Early History at the Universities of Tübingen and Freiburg. During his studies he participated in excavations in Germany and Spain. In 2002, the author completed his studies with the Magister Artium and a thesis on the Hercules frieze in the house of D. Octavius Quartio in Pompeii. In 2005 followed the doctorate.
