Gerhard Köpernik, Dr., studied Law and Politics and worked in the Federal Ministry of Economics. From 1979 to 1983 he worked at the German Embassy in Bucharest as commercial attaché, and in 2008/9 at the Bucharest Environment Agency on behalf of the EU Commission. He has been President of the German-Romanian Society since 2005.
