Gero Vogl studied Physics in Vienna, conducted research at the Technical University of Munich, and became a professor of Physics at Freie Universität Berlin. From 1985, he worked at the University of Vienna with material dynamics as research focus. His collaborators came from Poland and other Eastern European countries. Vogl published books on propagation phenomena in physics and animate nature and dealt with the languages of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy.
