Gianluca Pedrotti studied Foreign Languages and Foreign Literature at the Università del Sacro Cuore in Brescia. In 2009, he completed the Master's degree in German as a Foreign Language at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and subsequently received his Ph.D. in Romance Cultural Studies in 2015. Since 2011, he has been working in the field of Italian as a foreign language at the Language Center of Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität as well as at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich.
