Hans-Ernst Schiller studied Philosophy, Sociology and History in Erlangen and Frankfurt/Main. Doctorate in 1981 with a thesis on Ernst Bloch (Metaphysics and Social Criticism), Habilitation in 1997 in Kassel. Numerous publications on philosophy and social theory, including Kant, critical theory, and Ernst Bloch. Since 1996 Professor of Social Philosophy and Ethics at HSD University of Applied Sciences in Dusseldorf.
