Hans-Georg Ebert was as professor of Islamic Law at the Oriental Institute of Leipzig University of Leipzig until 2019. Since then, he has been a Senior Research Fellow in the Kolleg Research Group "Multiple Secularities" at Leipzig University. His main research interests are classical and modern Islamic law as well as the law of Arab countries.
