Hans-Hermann Bartens studied Finno-Ugrian Philology. He was working Nach Beteiligung an einem Wörterbuchprojekt in Finnland ist er bis 2008 at the Department of Finno-Ugrian Studies of the University of Göttingen until 2008. His research and teaching always centered on Sami language and culture.
