Ian Almond is a professor and teaches World Literature at the Georgetown University in Qatar. His research focusses on postcolonial theory, southasian literature and world literature as well as the representation of islam. He is also the author of Sufism and Deconstruction (2004), The New Orientalists (2007), Two Faiths, One Banner (2009) über die Geschichte der muslimisch-christlichen Militärbündnisse und The Thought of Nirad C. Chaudhuri: Islam, Empire and Loss (2015).
