Ioan-Aurel Pop is a professor of Medieval History at the Babeş-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, and the President of the Romanian Academy, Bukarest. His research focuses on Church and State in East-Central and South-Eastern Europe, on late medieval crusading and on humanism.
