Jin Zhao studied German Philology at Tongji University in Shanghai and has been active in research and teaching there since 1991. As a DAAD fellow from 1998 to 2002 at Philipps-Universität Marburg, she wrote her doctoral thesis on business German as a foreign language. From 2005 to 2006, she was a Humboldt Research Fellow at Friedrich Schiller University in Jena.
