Katharina Muelenz-Goli studied Japanese Philology, German Linguistics and Specialised English Translation (M.A.) as well as German as a Foreign Language (GFL) at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, where she also completed her doctorate in Speech Science and Phonetics. She has been a GFL lecturer at German, French and Japanese universities for more than 20 years. Since 2008, Japan is the centre of her life. She currently teaches GFL at the German Department of Rikkyō University in Tokyo.
