Klaus Hüfner (1939–2025), professor emeritus (Freie Universität Berlin), Honorary President of the World Federation of UN Associations (WFUNA), Member of the Presidium of the German Association for the United Nations (DGVN), Honorary Member of the German Commission for UNESCO and Honorary Chairman of the Berlin Committee for UNESCO Work, had long been active in the UN system, especially in UNESCO, on an honorary basis.
