Lenka Vaňková, Prof. Dr., is the head of the Department of German Philology and the Center for Research on Specialized Languages at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Ostrava and has been the chairwoman of the Czech Association of Germanists since 2004. Her research includes linguistic history (chancery languages, medical prose) and contemporary language (emotional linguistics, technical languages).
