Maria Irod is a literary scholar and translator, as well as a lecturer in German Philology at the Dimitrie Cantemir Christian University in Bucharest. She has published numerous book reviews and short essays in Romanian and German journals, as well as more extensive articles on various contemporary German-language authors.
