Markus Leniger studied History, German Philology, Philosophy and Educational Science at Ruhr University in Bochum. In 2004 he received his doctorate. He is a member of the Commission for Contemporary Ecclesiastical History in the Archdiocese of Paderborn and has been Director of Studies for the Department of History and Politics at the Catholic Academy in Schwerte since 1999.
