Pieter J. van den Berg born on Java as the son of a missionary. During the Second World War he was interred in a Japanese camp. After the war he studied Hebrew, Babylonian, Archeology of the Middle East, Psychology and Psychoanalysis in the Netherlands. Freuds anthropological writings have always fascinated him.
