Rainer Zaiser has been a professor of Romance Philology with a focus on French and Italian literary studies at Kiel University since 2005. After studying in Tübingen, Florence and at Bryn Mawr College in Avignon, he completed his doctorate and habilitation in Tübingen, professorships at the universities of Regensburg, Munich and Cologne, and an adjunct professorship at the University of Cologne from 1999-2005.
