Reiner Marquard, Dr. theol., is a pastor of the Protestant State Church in Baden and professor of Protestant social ethics at the Protestant University of Applied Sciences Freiburg and its rector since 2007. Previously, he was pastor and dean in the Evangelical Church in Hesse and Nassau. After his doctorate on the significance of the Isenheim Altar in the theological work of Karl Barth (AzTh 80), numerous publications on Mathias Grünewald followed.
