Rob Soons graduated from the Zuyd Hogeschool in Maastricht (Netherlands) with a B.A. degree in Translation and subsequently completed a Master's degree in Conference Interpreting with the languages Dutch, German and English at the Faculty of Translation Studies, Linguistics, and Cultural Studies at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. He works in the automotive industry.
