Silvio Bär is professor for Ancient Greek Literature at the Department of Philosophy, Classics, History of Art and Ideas at the University of Oslo. His research focusses on the Greek epic, tragedy, lyric, Second Sophistic prose and poetry, mythology and mythography (especially Herakles), intertextuality, narratology and reception of antiquity.
