Vittorio Prada studied Modern Literature and Foreign Languages at Università di Parma. Scholarships took him to the universities of Passau, La Rochelle, Boston, and Valencia. He received his Ph.D. in Italian Studies from the University of Stuttgart, where he also worked as a lecturer. His doctoral thesis Videokratie und theatralische Inszenierung der Politik in der Ära Berlusconi (Videocracy and theatrical staging of politics during the Berlusconi era) was awarded the Elise-Richter-Preis in 2015. It was also named best German dissertation in Cultural and Media Sciences.
Vittorio Prada lectures at european universities and has published in several journals and magazines. He currently works at the department of Romance Studies at the University of Tübingen.
