Walentin Belentschikow has studied German Philology and Russian Studies in Kiew and Leningrad. From 1990 on he has been a teacher at the universities of Potsdam, Erlangen-Nuremberg and Würzburg. His research focusses on the literary and cultural relationship between Russia and Western Europe.
