Zoja Berketova has taught foreign languages at the Kasakh National Pedagogical University. In Halle/Saale she held a professorship for the German and Russian Languages in Kasakhstan and Russia. Also, she was the principal of a private university for foreign languages in Moscow. Her research focusses on the lexikology of contemporary German and systematic relations in the lexicon.
