Akkad Alhussein studied at the Faculty of Translation, Linguistics and Cultural Studies at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz in Germersheim, where he also did his doctorate. His research focusses on translation theory, ethics of translation, translation history, translation of literature and self-translation. His future research will focus on the relationship between translation, identity and memory.
