Aleksey Tashinskiy studied Medicine in Tashkent. In 2012, he graduated as a translator and interpreter for Russian, German and English. He teaches and conducts research at the Department of Translation Studies, Linguistics, and Cultural Studies at the University Mainz in Germersheim. Together with Andreas F. Kelletat, he publishes the Germersheim translator's encyclopedia uelex.de.
