Carsten Sinner studied Spanish and Portuguese in Berlin and Barcelona. After completing his doctorate at the University of Potsdam on the Spanish of Catalonia and his habilitation at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin on the history of Portuguese technical languages, he has been Professor of Ibero-Romance Language and Translation Studies at the Institute of Applied Linguistics and Translatology at Leipzig University since 2008.
