Christiane Nord is a translator, translation teacher and scholar. In the past more than 40 years she has been active in teaching and research at universities in Heidelberg, Vienna, Hildesheim, Innsbruck and Magdeburg, and as a visiting professor in many countries of the world, especially in Latin America. Her research focuses on functionalism in translation theory, method and didactics.
