Karlheinz Schuster studied Philosophy, History, German Philology, and Physics in Mainz, Innsbruck, and Frankfurt, and received his doctorate with a thesis on Paul Natorp. He is a lecturer in Polish Studies at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. Together with Ewa Makarczyk-Schuster he has, among other things, translated Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz's (Witkacy) stage works completely into German.
