Kirsten Kumschlies, Dr., is an academic councillor for Elementary-School Didactics in German at Trier University. Her research interests are: contemporary children's and youth literature regarding the GDR, the fall of the wall and the "Wende" (years of the reunification) from a historical and didactic perspective, didactics of children's novels, libraries as an extracurricular place of learning, as well as source scripts in the teaching of German in elementary school.
