Lutz Götze, Prof. Dr., was a lecturer for German in Conakry (Republic of Guinea) after his studies in Leipzig. He further worked as a research assistant at the Goethe-Institut in Munich, as a professor for German as a Foreign Language at Ruhr-Universität Bochum and at the University of Saarland. His research and teaching activities focus on functional grammar, intercultural education, spelling and cultural theory. He is the editor of the standard work "Wahrig. Die deutsche Rechtschreibung".
