Nikolaos Aspiotes studied the guitar and the theory of harmony in Athens, where he focussed on ancient keys. For the past sixteen years he has been working on ancient Greek music. In 1996 his book Musicians and Fragments of Music from Ancient Greece in Contemporary Notation was published in Greece.
