Nilgin Taniş Polat studied at the Department of German Language and Literature of Ege University in Izmir and received her Ph.D. in 2006 with a thesis on cultural spaces and discourses in narrative texts in the light of literary translation. She teaches as an assistant professor in the Department of German Language and Literature and the Department of Translation and Interpreting at Ege University in Izmir.
