Roberto Ubbidiente, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, has written critical essays on works and authors from the 16th to the 20th century: Orlando Furioso, Il Caffè, the Grimaldi brothers, Pagano, Alfieri, Leopardi, Svevo, Pirandello, De Amicis, De Filippo, Brancati, Verdone. His research areas include intersemiotic translation and the relationships between literature, theater and popular culture. He is also active as a translator in the fields of art and literary criticism.
